About Me

I have been in the in publishing industry for over five years. After getting my degree in Journalism from Pretoria University, I started my career in trade publishing as the editor of the local magazine for cosmetic and pharmaceutical manufacturers called Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Review, which gave me a firm grounding as a technical editor.

I'm currently working full time as a copyeditor for a local publishing house across titles for Women's Interest, Men's Interest and Travel, as well as assist on custom publishing projects for the government sector.

I also freelance in my spare time: writing, editing and proofreading for a number of clients including advertising agencies and local lifestyle magazines. I write short news pieces on an ad hoc basis for publications in the beauty and cosmetic sphere.

I'm a full member of The Professional Editors' Group (PEG) and The Southern African Freelancers' Association (SAFREA).

I love languages and the seemingly absurd rules that dictate how certain languages are structured. I'm a grammar nazi who frequently edits and comments on errors in my daily life, from restaurant menus to friends' facebook status updates.

This is my personal blog where I share everything from thoughts to interesting links to stuff I've created. I hope you enjoy.
